Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

THE ROLE

As CFO, you will serve as a key member of the Executive Management Team, reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Board of Directors.

You will provide strategic financial leadership while maintaining a strong operational focus in details of the finance function. Beyond overseeing the Group’s finance function, you will play an important role in strengthening financial transparency, improving profitability, supporting restructuring initiatives, enhancing cash management and driving sustainable value creation across the organization.

We are specifically looking for a leader who is willing to roll up their sleeves, challenge the status quo and actively contribute to the transformation of the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the Group’s financial strategy, planning, budgeting, forecasting and
    performance management.
  • Establish and maintain rigorous cash flow, liquidity and working capital management, including rolling cash flow forecasting and treasury oversight.
  • Develop high-quality management reporting and financial dashboards to support data-driven decision-making by Executive Management and the Board.
  • Take overall responsibility for Group accounting, consolidation, financial reporting, taxation, compliance and internal controls.
  • Strengthen project controlling, including project profitability analysis, cost-to-complete assessments and revenue recognition methodologies.
  • Drive improvements in financial processes, governance and reporting standards across all Group entities.
  • Support and actively contribute to restructuring, transformation and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Lead, coach and develop the international finance organization while fostering a business-
    partner mindset within Finance.
  • Manage relationships with banks, auditors, financing partners and external stakeholders.
  • Support refinancing activities, acquisitions, due diligence processes and post-merger integrations, where required.
  • Act as a trusted sparring partner to the CEO, Board of Directors and management teams across the Group.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Proven senior finance leadership experience as CFO, Finance Director, Group Finance Director or in a comparable executive role.
  • Strong expertise across accounting, controlling, FP&A, treasury, liquidity management and corporate finance.
  • Experience operating within an international multi-company and multi-country environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in restructuring, business transformation, turnaround situations or performance improvement programs.
  • Strong track record in cash management, working capital optimization and financing negotiations.
  • Experience in project-based industrial businesses, ideally within machinery, plant engineering, automation, manufacturing or related sectors.
  • Solid understanding of project controlling and long-term project revenue recognition methods.
  • Hands-on mentality and ability to move seamlessly between strategic and operational topics.
  • Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent German and English, both written and spoken, Spanish or Portuguese is a plus.
  • Willingness to work primarily from our headquarters in Zofingen and travel internationally on a regular basis (up to 40%).

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with Swiss GAAP FER. IFRS and/or US GAAP is optional.
  • Experience with ERP implementations or finance system transformations; Infor experience is an advantage.
  • Experience in M&A, due diligence and post-merger integration.
  • Experience in automation, robotics, special machinery or related industries.
